Is there any way to get Aion to run without pretty much shutting down virus prot? I use Kaspersky and it doesn't get along well with Aion. Load times (for me) are RED Engine ing long to.
Ran at a around 60-80 fpm so I doubt the system or ISP is to blame.

Ant ideas or just live with it?

It has a long load up time.

Aside from disabling your antivirus you can disable gameguard via third party patch; this is against the EULA I imagine.

I had no issues, running norton.

i tried kaspersky a year ago or so.... completely lagged my system on normal operations.... took me about 10 minutes to uninstall it from my comp thats how bad it was.

it took about a minute to load the game... but from there i had seamless game no loading screen at all until i went from sanctum to main island or to noob island.

Hm, no problems at loading for me. Only the NCSoft logo loads a bit long, like what, 30 seconds.

Any idea where I can get this patch? I'll wait to see if things improve but for now Gameguard has to be in trusted...not comfy with allowing a rootkit which, for me is like shutting down virus prot.

Once the thing loaded the signon went fairly quickly. A minute or so but after logging off the game wanted to 'check' for updates..turned it off at 2.5 hours. This seems to be a known problem. Did a little checking on mmo sites and it seems the problem is common but not consistant.

ummm, for other coments..Loading in about a minue??? For the initial game load???? You would have to be loading about 6Gb/minute. Are you talking about game log time once the initial load is done?

I'm not so sure about that. I have McAfee and it loaded up just fine. The protection part was less then a minute which is alot better then EQ2 for sure. I can't get in until this weekend beta but I'm excited about checking it out.

And this is after inital load which took forever lol

I have Kaspersky but haven't had any problems with Aion. I am running Windows 7 x64 and am using the update someone posted somewhere to make NProtect work on Win7. You'll have to search for it on the web, can't remember where I got it.

I did notice that NProtect opens up a window and starts doing stuff whenever I log into my bank account, even if I haven't even started up Aion since I turned the computer on. Quite disturbing.
